Tami Bulla joined the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department on September 14, 1981, as a “Junior Member” and was a “High School Cadet” with the MCPS program.
Tami advanced to EMS Sergeant in 1985 and President in 1989.
Tami went on to become the Department’s senior EMS Officer, currently serving as the EMS Lieutenant responsible for the Emergency Medical Services side of the Department. Tami also serves on the County’s Medical Review Committee and as a part of the 2020 Negotiations Team for the MCVFRA collective bargaining agreement.
Tami has served as the President for over 13 terms and also served ten terms as Vice President.
She has served as the Director of Research and Planning for the Howard County Police Department since 1994 and worked for the Laurel Police Department before joining the HCPD. Tami’s husband Mark has also served the BVFD since 1980. Their son Michael joined in March of 2011.
The BVFD is known for being a “family,” and it has been a huge part of the Bulla family for decades.
