Tami Bulla

Vice President

Tami Bulla joined the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department on September 14, 1981, as a “Junior Member” and was a “High School Cadet” with the MCPS program.

Tami advanced to EMS Sergeant in 1985 and President in 1989.  Tami went on to become the Department’s senior EMS Officer, serving for over a decade as the EMS Lieutenant responsible for the Emergency Medical Services side of the Department.  She concluded that role at the end of 2021.   Tami also serves on the County’s Medical Review Committee.

Currently, Tami serves as the Vice President for the BVFD and has served as the President for 15 terms as well as ten previous terms as Vice President.

 

Tami is also serving as the alternate representative to the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Rescue  Association(MCVFRA).  She has served the MCVFRA on various committees over the years, including being a part of the 2020 – 2022 Negotiations Team for the MCVFRA collective bargaining agreement.

 

She has served as the Director of Research and Planning for the Howard County Police Department since 1994 and worked for the Laurel Police Department before joining the HCPD. Tami’s husband Mark has also served the BVFD since 1980. Their son Michael joined in March of 2011.  Their daughter Katie was hired as the Recruiter and Volunteer Coordinator in 2022.

The BVFD is known for being a “family,” and it has been a huge part of the Bulla family for decades.
