Chester Cadogan joined the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department in September 2013. Chester migrated from Trinidad and Tobago in January that year.

Chester began his term as the President of the BVFD in January 2022.

Chester was first appointed to the Board in August 2017 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2018 -2021. On the Board, in 2018 he served as Secretary to the Board and 2nd Vice President; in 2019 – 2021 he served as Vice President. He also served as our delegate to the MCVFRA from 2018 – 2021. Chester has chaired many committees in his time as Vice President such as Open House in 2019.

Chester was promoted to an EMS Master in February of 2017 also serves as the only certified CPR instructor and consistently provides EMS staffing each week. In 2017. Chester was recognized as the County’s EMT of the Year by the MCVFRA and was the top EMS Provider in 2017.

Chester has a distinguished career in accounting and financial management and is currently working as an Internal Audit Supervisor in the Gaming Division at the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission having started in 2013. Before that he held the position of Senior Accounting Officer at the National Lotteries Control Board in Trinidad and Tobago for ten years.
