Two BVFD EMTs awarded the MCVFRA EMT of the year awards!
The Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department offers its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to two of our most dedicated volunteers. EMT Jamie Calderon and Master EMT Jessica Prentice were recognized last week at the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Rescue Association’s Awards and Legislative Reception as EMT of the Year.
As MCVFRA awards for the last few years have been postponed due to COVID safety precautions, we were able to celebrate both EMTs Calderon and Prentice together, in the presence of representatives of all 19 LFRDs represented by the MCVFRA as well as members of the Montgomery County Council and their staff. Both having joined the department in 2016, EMTs Calderon and Prentice have long stood as examples of exemplary service within our department, and we are glad to be able to share their accomplishments and necessity with the County’s leadership.
Beyond their invaluable investment in staffing our station’s ambulance, both EMTs Calderon and Prentice serve on our Board of Directors, and oversee aspects of new personnel training.
We are so grateful for their service, and for the recognition bestowed by the MCVFRA!
