One definition of the word “sacrifice” is an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.
For fathers, there are many short, valuable moments in life: watching football, shooting a round of golf, hunting, fishing, exercise, etc. But all of them are far inferior to spending time with your children. This Father’s Day, we salute members of the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department who balance the most import job all, Fatherhood.
Happy Father’s Day to our past Fire Chiefs Mike Kerr and Chief Michael Ryman, Firefighters Mark Bulla, Terence Mokosso, Rick Noell, Brandon Robers, Joe Samels, Kyle Gallagher, EMTs Akil Brooks, Chester Cadogan, Len Newman and all of our volunteer members who are Fathers.
Not all heroes wear capes.
Some fight fires and save lives.
