
Back to back working fires for Company 15
Around 1PM on Friday January 23rd, Engine and Rescue Squad 715 responded on the initial assignment to the 600 block of Hollywood Ave. in Hillandale. Units arrived to find an exterior portion of a one story, single family home on fire and extending inside the home. T715 responded shortly thereafter on the rapid intervention dispatch. RS715 performed searches, controlled utilities, and assisted with overhaul. PE715 stretched a line and operated on the first floor. T715 stood fast as a part of the rapid intervention group. Units operated for about one hour before clearing.
Then aroundĀ 5PMĀ as crews were sitting down to dinner, PE715 and RS715 responded on the initial assignment and T715 responded with additional units on the fire taskforce, to the 11200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in White Oak. Units arrived to find fire in the void spaces over a single story, commercial laundromat. RS715 performed searches and controlled utilities before being reassigned to assist with opening up to gain access to the concealed fire. PE715 stood-by as part of the rapid intervention group, and T715 stood-by as additional manpower with other taskforce units. Units operated for over three hours before clearing
