Just after 5:00 AM on July 13th, Paramedic Engine 715 and Rescue Squad 715 were alerted for the reported unknown fire in the area of Briggs Chaney Road and MD Route 200.
As units were responding, they were advised the call was being upgraded to a reported house fire at 13701 Old Columbia Pike. RS715 arrived to find a single family home with fire showing from the deck extending into the house. Units went to work with dealing with high heat conditions on the top floor and a significant volume of fire hidden in void spaces along with a large quantity of debris throughout.
PE715 operated a hose line on the top floor while T715 split crews; laddering the structure, opening up for the engine, and ventilating horizontally and vertically. RS715 forced entry for initial crews, performed searches, controlled utilities, and assisted with opening up. Units cleared the scene around 9:30 AM.
