Vehicular Collision on Spencerville Road near Kruhm Road

Driver pinned in wreckage, after colliding with tree.

On December 7th, at 7:17 PM an emergency call was received for a vehicular collision. Units from Sandy Spring, Burtonsville, and Howard county responded. Upon arrival the units found a single truck that had gone out of control and struck a tree while in the air. The driver of the vehicle was pinned inside by the wreckage, unable to move. The passenger was not pinned and was removed quickly while rescuers attended to the driver. The Maryland State Police MediVac Helicopter was requested to fly both of the injured patients to the hospital. After approximately twenty minutes, rescuers were finally able to remove the driver from the vehicle.
